Denmark used to be something of a giant in the Associate world, never quite making it to a global tournament, but never being far off. However, despite their victory at the last edition of the tournament, the Danes ended up stone last in the main event, even below struggling Oman. Freddie Klokker, as well as the Pedersens and aggressive young batsmen Rizwan Mahmood and Aftab Ahmed will hope to score the runs to make Denmark untouchable, at least at this level. | Freddie Klokker |
Guernsey will share Group A with Italy, a side who finished an impressive tenth in the last Qualifier. The Channel Island will still be optimistic of success, though, as Jeremy Frith (now 35) boasts one of the best all-round career records in the World Cricket League. The squad features many new faces, with Ravenscroft unavailable and Savident having moved on to a managerial role, coach Nic Pothas's side will have a tough task ahead of them to make the final. | Jeremy Frith |
Italy come into the tournament without the two county pros, Gareth Berg and Michael Di Venuto, who served them so well at the last Qualifier. As a result, much will rest on the muscular shoulders of impressive batting all-rounder Peter Petricola. There are one or two new faces in the squad, but more experienced players like Crowley, Northcote and Sandri can be banked upon to have good tournaments in a side largely unchanged from two years ago. | Peter Petricola |
Jersey's new look side will need somebody to step up and fill the shoes of Ryan Driver, at that somebody will be CJ Bodenstein. The left-handed all-rounder played two first-class matches for Oxford MCCU this season, impressing particularly against reigning County Champions Warwickshire by taking five for 65 in the match. He will be backed up by Ed Farley, the star of the previous tournament, although Dean Morrison was ruled ineligible. Jersey can hope realistically to progress to the UAE. | CJ Bodenstein |
